Our Year 4 class spent World Book Day at the local library, listening to stories, choosing new books to bring back to the classroom, and meeting one of the library's regular author visitors.

The children came dressed as their favourite characters and spent the morning exploring the library's children's section — from picture books for younger siblings to longer chapter books they could tackle themselves. Several children signed up for library cards on the day and took their first borrowed books home that evening.

"Reading for pleasure is one of the most powerful things a child can do for themselves," said our English lead. "Days like this are a brilliant reminder of how much fun reading can be when you find the right book."

Thank you to the library team for making us so welcome.
